Hello and welcome to Xtend Health Asia, a labor of love dedicated to Xtend-Life Natural Health Products (health supplements & skincare), which is manufactured in their fully-own and purpose-built state-of-the-art facility in Christchurch, New Zealand.
They are highly regulated (very important to me as health professional): Has a food safety program based on hazard analysis critical control points (HACCP) which is regularly audited by AsureQuality (an internationally accredited authority owned by the New Zealand government), and a Risk Management Program (RMP) which is regularly audited by the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI). Xtend-Life also abides by the US FDA’s cGMP (good manufacturing practices) code for dietary supplements.
These compliance programs enable them to rigorously control the quality of all raw ingredients and finished products to ensure that their products always achieve the highest standards possible.
I hope this website is able to help you naturally build and achieve the health, wellness and skin that you desire.

So many question, and let's try to cover as much as we can today.
In this review, we review generally multi-vitamins as well as multi-vitamins and multi-nutrients formulated specificly for women and their physiology/biological needs.
An example is that women tend
to need a higher level of iron and other vital nutrients in their
nutrition/diet as compared to men (explained below)
Women need more iron than men to make up for the amount of iron they lose in their menstrual period. Around 1 mg of iron is lost for every day of bleeding. Iron deficiency is the most common nutrient deficiency in women.
So that's why some of these companies specially and purposefully (and carefully) research and formulated multi-vitamins specially for women and their specific needs in mind. All those that are listed here are compliant with rigorous pharmaceutical grade standards.
Of course, all supplements and companies that are not compliant with GMP and FDA standards were excluded from this list (no point listing them).
I selected the top 10 multi-vitamins for women (anything not in this list, you can actually literally ignore and take off your list as well). Every multi-vitamin for women are scored according to certain standards, such as GMP-compliance (more on that below), raw ingredient quality and purity, as well as product absorption rate and more.

cGMP means "current Good Manufacturing Practices" and that is a very high mark and distinction of quality. Of course the list above shows that all 10 are GMP-compliant, since I reject and remove any that aren't GMP-compliant, but really, most health supplement companies are not compliant with the United States Food & Drug Administration cGMP code for dietary and health supplements.
Interestingly, on June 28, 2010, the US government launched a policy stating that any companies that wishes or wants to sell anything in US needs to be first GMP compliant BUT as of end 2011, it seems that more than 70% are still not compliant. In fact, two years later in 2013, the number of non-compliance companies have slowly crept upwards to be more than 80% of them being non-compliant.
United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA) states that they require all dietary and health supplement manufacturers in the United States (US) to comply with "current Good Manufacturing Practices" (cGMP or GMP) for all nutrition supplements. Sadly, a large number of these companies and supplements do not comply.
I'd like to share a little history of GMP - in the year 2000, US FDA started the policy about the requirement of GMP compliance. After 6 years, in 2006, the US FDA started to phase in the GMP-compliance, and another 3 years after that, in 2009 that being GMP-compliant is a pre-requisite for dietary and health supplements.
Sadder thing is that though it's written that it's "mandated" and "required", it is not being enforced yet. The health supplement industry has 3 core arms (out of 6) that manages GMP-compliance registration, certifications and audits.
They are:
So some companies took the USP GMP-certification and compliance. Some took the NSF route.
For some companies choose to actively utilize the enforcement, testing and standards with the United States Pharmacopeial Convention, which works in-tandem with USP as well as the FDA. These companies will quote:
Quoting directly from their website:
“The United States USP Verified – Best Multivitamin for Women Article Pharmacopeia Convention (USP) is a scientific nonprofit organization that sets standards for the identity, strength, quality, and purity of medicines, food ingredients, and dietary supplements manufactured, distributed and consumed worldwide. USP’s drug standards are enforceable in the United States by the Food and Drug Administration, and these standards are developed and relied upon in more than 130 countries”
Weirdly enough, though Xtend-Life and all their health supplements are GMP and FDA registered and compliant (on top of being compliant with New Zealand Ministry of Health and British Pharmacopeia standards) - they do not appear on the USP list.
Xtend-Life is founded and based in Christchurch, New Zealand, which is south of Australia and north of the south pole, and as I mentioned above, New Zealand Ministry Of Health (MOH) have very high and stringent requirements for all New Zealand health supplement manufacturers - companies can expect and receive regular compliance audits and checks by New Zealand Food Safety Authority, which is part of New Zealand Ministry of Health.
Xtend-Life doesn't stop there. They adopted a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point Program (HACCP) that is also audited by New Zealand Food Safety Authority.
Other note-worthy companies that are like Xtend-Life, being GMP-registered but also not listed on the USP list includes: Douglas Laboratories, Quixtar, Source Naturals, Shaklee, Mountain Naturals, Optimum Nutrition and more. These companies are also all cGMP-registered and compliant with their facilities and manufacturing processes. In fact, Douglas Labs has very renowned supplements that are also highly regarded by health professionals in USA.
That's why it's very important (not to mentioned vital and safe) to be thorough when you're deciding which health supplement is good quality or not, as the truth of the matter is that there is so much supplement-related fraud in this industry.
Many health supplement and vitamins manufacturers choose the easy way out of this, which is to not be GMP or FDA compliant, and opt to make as much quick money as they can. Some supplements have been shockingly found to have used product fillers that are non-nutritional "just to plump up supplements so they look good enough to sell". Ugh.
As a measure of safety, look out for pharmaceutical-grade health supplements that are manufactured in GMP-compliant facilities regardless of it being certified with the USP, NSF or NNFA.
Study the product ingredients, study the product manufacturing procedures, study the guarantee, look for testimonials and study the company, study its age (new launches versus established companies).
If the product is any good, it will show and mention of its effectiveness and efficiency - it needs to show that it works, and works well in its promises. Don't just read the product label (do read of course), but go and see what actual customers and users are saying. If it works, there will be happy and returning customers who will share their experiences and testimonials.
I hope this ranking of the best multivitamin for women is useful and helpful to help you make a health decision for yourself, your loved ones and your friends.
